SAP CRM integrates with ECC via Middleware, middleware is more of ABAP code which deals with integration of CRM data with ECC and vice versa.... ex : When a customer is created in CRM, through this middleware, it will get auto updated in ECC . integration related changes are handled by CRM middlewear consultants.
